I happened upon Christopher Brian King this weekend as I researched various graphic artists who created the book covers we are so familiar with. While I haven't read the books he designed for, I was drawn to his simplistic, yet powerful style. He conveys a lot of meaning through a few brief images. My favorite cover of his is for the book How the Dead Live by Derek Raymond. His use of negative space to create a skull from a broken plate was fantastic! Inspiring Eye Art

I looked at this in another class I had last year. This was the coolest thing I ever saw. 
The graffiti artist TEMPTONE diagnosed with ALS is now almost entirely physically paralyzed. Working with different organizations Free Art and Technology (FAT), OpenFrameworks, the Graffiti Research Lab, and The Ebeling Group they were able to create a working Eye Writer. Using this technology that attaches to Temptone's glasses, it follows the movement of his eye and allows those movements to be traced and turned into graffiti art. 
I think this is so fantastic because it allows artists to continue doing what they love and they are able to see their work by having it streamed via camera back to them so they are still able to put this work out in the world and it is temporary but leaves a lasting impression. 
I think it says a lot about these people who are working so hard to help others do what they love. 
The Graffiti Research Lab does lots of different pieces such as this laser graffiti on buildings, which is really cool as well, if you want to check it out.

Artistic Ideas/People/Pieces

        I originally stumbled upon this artist probable a year ago on Stumbleupon and am also intrigued at what he has done. The way in which he takes his photos and then merges them into one to create this very bizarre/cool/fascinating image which makes the observer do a couple of take overs just to see what was done. He overlaps his pieces to give sort of an optical illusion look/feel and I myself plan to mimic this technique to see what I can produce.

9 Inspiring Graphic Designers

           I found this article and I found it very interesting. I'm intrigued by all sorts of graphic design work, however I'm not familiar with any artists in particular. This article discusses 9 different graphic artists that are very well known for what kind of artwork that they do. One of the graphic artists that I found most interesting was John Henry Alvin. He's known for many famous movie posters for movies such as E.T., Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. It's cool to find out who is responsible for these well-known pieces that we see all the time. I never really thought about who made things like this before.
